Well, yes, we are celebrating, but just a little. The children go trick-or-treat-ing, Halloween parties are arranged, but it's not a huge celebration, more like an excuse to do something fun in October. :D

My favourite thing about Halloween is that I get to put a pumpkin outside our front door and scare children who come knocking.

This year I went for the horror look:

    And here's our pumpkin:

Sorry about the bad photo quality. My camera and flash seem to work when they want to, not when I want to.

    Happy Halloween Droopy!
    You are very scary there!!!
We don't really make too much of Halloween. I think it's for the little ones, and there is just something about going door to door begging candy that I don't get.
Call me a stick in the mud... I know...
I found a very realistic fake carveable pumpkin for cheap this year, and my hubby carved (or I should say drilled) a design in it. Now we have a perpetual Halloween pumpkin, and won't need to do it each year.

Nah, Kay, I won't call you a stick-in-the-mud at all. We resisted for as long as we could, but when the girls were old enough to go and all their friends also did, well, we had to play along for the girls' sake. So that's what we'll do for as long as the girls enjoy their trick-or-treating.

As for carving pumpkins, my family demands pumpkin cookies in autumn, so we have to get one anyway.

    Droopy, You're a good Mom!
I enjoyed helping my kids create costumes when they were growing up. We also baked the pumpkin seeds and once even baked a pie. Those days are behind us now. My daughter is dressing uo her dog :D
It is kinda chilly here this afternoon so I'm not sure that we will see many ghosts or goblins...

    :D Great costume Droopy!
We had the shortest ever trick-or-treating trip out tonight ... it's SO cold outside tonight!!
We always have pumpkins, but we save them for pie :D

Saaaaaaaaaaaaay....that looks pretty good to me. I like the fancy wig and "that look".
The jack-o-lantern is impressive as well.

I'll bet you had loads of fun tonight. How did the visiting kids respond to your make-up....and lantern?

Thanks for thinking I'm scary. :D

I managed to get a few squeals from the visitors, but nothing worth bragging about. I'll have to sharpen up for next year. :D

Bip, the amount of visitors seems to move in waves. Two years ago we had lots of them, but last year and this year weren't as good. It was pouring down yesterday so maybe that's why.

Droopy, glad to see you back. I hope your summer ended up better than it started.

Gee Droopy, you look just like the lady that used to live next door to us! :D
We don't get trick-or-treaters out here in the country so I compensate by taking plates of homemade Halloween cookies to the guys at the feed store, the hardware store, the Post Office, and to my hairdresser. I don't dress up though. My usual attire is spooky enough!

Pretty scary looking Droopy! I think I'd brave it for treats!
We don't get trick-or-treaters either out here. But I always make sure to have candy on hand.... just in case.
This year I did have three monsters to give the candy to... two of my brothers and hubby!

Good evening all, thanks for replying to my Halloween-thread from last year. :D I guess that's just what was needed to get me posting again. I'll make an update thread to explain my rather longish absence.
