One of my neighbors was cleaning out the garage and gave this cute little bird house to me. It looks like wood, but is actually ceramic.

And the very next day, a friend's mom sent over one of her old hummingbird feeders. Seems she's getting new ones and I'm lucky enough to get the old.
Even though alot of the paint is peeled off... it's still too cute!

Very nice hand-me-downs...the birdhouse is adorable. Do you have a lot of hummingbirds in your neighborhood? I have feeders but no one to feed from them.

Typically we have a few hummingbirds, but this year I've only seen one... and that was weeks ago.
At the family home however, they are plentiful, especially at the Mimosa tree.
Wonder where they all are this year?

What wonderful gifts Cheryl. The bird house is really lovely but I think the hummingbird feeder has to be my favourite. We don't have hummingbirds here but I'd hang it in the garden just as an ornament.

Yes Eileen... I think I'd have put it out too even without the hummers. I have a "whirly" hot air balloon and this just complements it wonderfully.
Now... if only the hummingbirds would come and enjoy it too!

Hummers seem to come and go over a period of time. Find out when they migrate through your area. In the spring, put out the feeders just before the hummers start to come through and maybe some of them will stay the summer. That's what I did in the beginning and I have several sets every year. They seem to come back to the same area every year. I mix their food a little stroner during migration time. That's when they need the extra boost of energy! Normally, I mix 1/4 cup of sugar to 1/2 cup of water. Heat it in the micro wave until it starts to boil. Take it out and add ice to make 1 cup of food. They seem to love it, even though it's not red in color.

The hummingbird feeder leaks at one of the pedestals. I'll see if I can get it fixed. Otherwise, it just may become a yard decoration.
