It's going to be hot and we were outside today so I think we will stay home and do nothing. It's been a few years since we even went to fireworks. Happy fourth of July to everyone whether you celebrate or not. dooley

Happy Independence Day to us, U.S.
Do you have your flags hanging/flying outside today?

We are going to a potluck supper with a group of friends tonight. The eating and fireworks watching will take place indoors this year. Our temp today is supposed to be 103 which means at 9 tonight when the fireworks begin it will still be around 98 outside.

Our Legion Post sponsored the July 4th Parade again this year. We had a pancake and sausage breakfast at the Hall and had over 150 people show up for it. Then the parade started. I will post some pics after I get them sized etc.

The day started off with a sausage and pancake breakfast. We were overwelmed with people. We netted $800 for the post. Here is part of the crowd. It was like this from 8 to 10 am.

At 9:30 we held the childrens bike decorating contest. The winner won $15, 2nd place was $10 and 3rd was $5. Each child that entered got a crisp new $2 bill.

The post's antique fire truck leads the parade.

A couple of Miss Libertys were also in it.

One of my friends with his 1958 Studebaker was in the parade.

And last in line was the Shriner's Tin Lizzie Brigade. They were last because they make so much noise with their horns, it will drive you nutty!

There were over 30 units in the parade this year, one of the biggest we have ever had. A lot of church groups were entered this year. Like they sau, everyone loves a parade, and they like to be in them too!
