Happy Independence Day all. I am facing a milestone today. We are having a picnic for hubbys fellow workers. There will be about 18 people here. The first visitors in many years and I am looking forward it. I have had some tough years lately and this will be just one more step toward for me getting back to normal. Hope everyone enjoys the celebration. We have a childrens summer camp about one mile away. My dining room window, large picture window, faces this camp. They have a wonderful display of fireworks that we will be able to watch, sitting comfortably at the dining chairs for dessert, without mosquitoes. :-D :-D That's the best part.
Happy Independence day to all my U.S. friends. Have a fun, safe holiday, and fly the flag proudly! Nice of all you friends in other places to send good wishes. It's good to have a couple days off, to enjoy family, and some tasty BBQ.
Thank you all for the Happy 4th wishes! We are going to have a quiet day on the farm, then sit on the patio and watch the fireworks over the lake that's about two miles away. Barb, I think your firework watching is better--we get mosquitoes!
Hubby's going to a party at the lake this evening. I'm going to be the party pooper and stay home and keep the dogs calm. No mosquitos, smoke, or fear that someone will blow themselves or the dock up
I celebrated by starting 25 pounds of sauerkraut. Light rain and mist forecast for most of the day. Quiet time today, have to work Friday and Saturday.
Have a happy day and stay safe. Lots of traffic on the roads today. Enjoy those fireworks and the barbecue, too. dooley
Happy 4th everyone. My flag is up and flapping in a slight breeze. Nothing special happening here, most of the fireworks events happened last night. The closest one is a huge one that Halliburton puts on for it's employees and their families, it's only a couple of blocks away so we get to see that if we walk up the street a bit. Tonight we will stay close to home to make sure none of our neighbors set our house or any others on fire with illegal fireworks.
Toni, That is what we're going to do tonight! Protect the home base! We have neighbors that love to blow things up and send burning lanterns afloat in the sky! Makes us a bit nervous :-|
Happy 4th of July everyone. Hubby's cooking a pot of beans. I'm about to make potato salad. The ribs are marinating. We'll just be staying here too. I don't like being on the roads on holidays. As soon as everyone starts to set off fireworks, Sassy Marie (the dawg) will be wanting to come inside and hide. I'm sure we'll be able to see some fireworks off in the distance... that's good enough for me. Or... can always watch the big FreedomFest in Houston on the TV (yep... no mosquitos that way).
