It was a bright sunny day 53 years ago today! I know this because Brian and I got married then. It was a lovely day. No clouds, not too hot and lots of family and friends there. 53 years have gone past now. If I wonder where they have gone I just have to think of all the things that have happened in that 53 years. Three wonderful sons and six grandchildren. There have been the usual ups and downs but more ups for sure. It's been a wonderful 53 years but at our age I don't think we can do 53 years more. Just 50, maybe! dooley

Thank you for all the kind messages. Fifty three years ago in a small Baptist church in Wisconsin, I stood next to a pretty young red haired Scottish lassie and we took our vows. Now, I am sitting next to a lovely blond haired lady who claims to be my wife. What happened to the red head? Oh, well it really doesn't matter. In my heart she will always be the same lassie I stood next to all those years ago. I do have to give some consideration to the name desert rat. We no longer live in the Arizona desert, but now inhabit the east Texas piney woods. Maybe a new name would be appropriate. What do you think? dr
