Our front office manager is a wonderful lady who is also a master gardener and always brings in plants or cuttings. So for her special day, I gave her a bag of potting soil. She got such a kick out of it and said it was the perfect gift.
I have a funny story about this day in 1966. I was a secretary working out in Lubbock, Texas. A few days before Secretaries Day (it's original title) a local radio station started announcing reminders to bosses that Wednesday, April 25 was National Secretaries Day. That was all well and good, but the music in the background was The Stripper by the David Rose Orchestra. I was in a local Professional Secretaries club and we all made complaint phone calls to the radio station. They removed the music the next day. The Stripper on YouTube
