Elvis Pressley. Yesterday, Jan 8th, was his birthday. He would have been 75 yrsold if he had lived. Now you know what that makes the rest of us who remember him......... OLD!
Can you imagine what Elvis would look like at 75? And sound like! There will never be another like him IMO. I like all his music, but liked the later years the best. What about the rest of you??
Randy asked me yesterday if I knew why the radio stations were playing all-Elvis, all-day. I told him Elvis's birthday was sometime in January so that was probably it. 'Love Me Tender' came out the year I turned 10 yrs old, that was the only record of his I ever bought. Swooned over it as most 10 year old girls in 1956 were doing for a few weeks then gave it to a girl friend and in March, 1957, I heard Ricky Nelson singing on the radio and never looked at Elvis again.
Toni ~ I liked RN as well, but still swoon over Elvis when I hear his songs now. You should see all the memorabilia I have collected. Been to Graceland 3 times, have seen all the movies, had the 33 1/3, 45's CD's, 8-track, cassettes and CD's. I was cooking dinner when my best friend called and said he was dead. I thought she was joking, turned on the TV and OMG, still couldn't believe it. Sad day... Frank ~ thanks...he looks better than I thought he would. Of course he would still dye his hair!
Thank you Frank. Frank I still think he is a very handsome 75 year old.I'm like kuntrygal I loved Ricky Nelson and Buddy Holly but still swoon over any Elvis song are picture.
I have a CD of him on my computer that I listen to , I would rather not see what he would look like today...I want to remember him as he was....I had the chance of seeing him when he came to Green Bay but I was too sick to stand in line for tickets at that time...I really wish I would of did it anyway but others around me would not have liked me coughing up a storm.
I saw Elvis twice ...once when I was 6 months pregnant. My daughter was 'rockin' and rollin' to the beat of the music!! That was a year before he died.
