For our Canadian friends, Happy Thanksgiving (and we are thankful you are here on the Stew)! And for all of us here in the U. S. it's Columbus Day, when we celebrate the "finding" of America (or not, if you prefer Leif Ericson) and go shopping. It seems our holiday cards have turned into credit cards.
Happy Thanksgiving and Columbus Day... or Pirates Day as my good brother calls it... he swears Columbus was a pirate.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Canadian members, eh? I stopped celebrating Columbus Day when I started reading about what he actually did. I'll go with Leif Erickson. Not that I ever did anything special on the day anyway. It is a federal holiday so Randy is wandering around the house catching up on little projects.
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Columbus Day and Leif Ericson to us all . I am cleaning, as always, and making a gooood smelling chuck roast early in the day. It was very cold last night but not to frost, so we fired up the pellet stove in the living room and the fireplace in the dining room. The real furnace has not been on yet. We don't usually fire it up till into December, so will see this year. I actually never realized that our Columbus Day, was you guys up northerly way, Turkey Day and of those who do something with Leif Ericson, all on the same day. There is no holiday celebration here except, I have started cleaning up my dining room for my November Thanksgiving. I have picked the tablecloth and cleaned the silver. That's all, I am starting early as to be sure to get it done on time. Barb in Pa.
I have to go with the NA's on this one. How can you discover a place with people already living there? It's like if I paint my truck blue, so I invented chevrolet.
