I decided to clear litter from our village streets so I hope that counts. Happy Earth Day Jane and everyone else too. :-D
Happy Earth Day from me too. Maybe I'll just run out and give Ma Earth a big ol' kiss... when I get home of course... don't want to look like a lunatic here at work I'm glad you posted this Jane... I thought about it this morning and took these photos as my "Earth Day" presentation since it's about the prettiest thing I have blooming right now. Bottlebrush with the most blooms ever! I am tired, I have been giving my part of Mother Earth a weed pull and Canna planting event to celebrate. Got the unattended southwest corner of the front yard dug up and ready for a new fence panel and some rose bushes this weekend. Edited to ad.... My oldest daughter is letting her 6th grade science classes do nature/selfies.. http://www.treehugger.com/culture/earth ... e-one.html
We have been picking up garbage in the ditches all week. It's amazing how much ends up there during the winter! I would have liked to plant a tree but the weather isn't co-operating. Snow on the ground again this morning
I'm so proud of y'all, and Mother Earth thanks you, too! Netty, we have very little trash along our road (which is highly unusual for Texas). It may be due to the fact that I've told everyone I can that God will be good to me one day and when a passing car tosses out a styrofoam cup or a fast-food container, I'll have my rifle with me. It does wonders for trash abatement!
Belated Happy Earth Day to you all! Started a bunch of pepper seeds yesterday...no trees/bushes as it snowed all around us this AM!
I did my bit with images sent in. Had a great response and a greater page. A few of you missed out helping. May do it again next year, this was our sixth.
Folks, Kildale was kind enough to use a couple of our photos in the Earth Day page for the Nature Center, and we were so proud and so honored! There were some magnificent photos there of elk, owls, mountains, etc. Save up some great photos for next year and maybe more of us can be proud and honored.
