Harlequin Duck

    I only know of one place where you might see this duck, and today it was there. The Harlequin Duck is rather rare as they like fast flowing rivers. They come for the calmer weather in the winter.

    I always think of these birds as Mosaic ducks because of al the angles and curves that make up their plumage.

    A bird that is on vacation. Soon it will be warmer and he will have to get back to raising a family. For now it is easy street.... or should I say easy river. Nice picture, and a most unusual coloring.

    I love it's coloring. So pretty it almost looks fake.

    That's a very pretty duck. :D I almost said it looks good enough to eat but I won't. :oops: I hope they bring up lots of young ones.
