Well we didn´t just lounge about all day on the harbour gobbling fish fillets and swilling cola. We actually did a bit of work in the lotties.
We did more of the endless cleaning, fighting aphids, planting and transplanting as well giving the toms their second ´haircut´ of the season. The foliage was in serious need of pruning and suckering.

I like it when I can actually see bare stem after the pruning.

There were lettuces to be harvested as some were almost ready to shoot.
There were more strawbs of course, peas and the Purslain was ready for it´s first harvest.

Ok, ok it wasn´t all hard work...there was the mandatory `Flower Appreciation Hour`-- and that ment some visual enjoyment and some fotos for the memories. hahaha.
I liked the Digitalises this year.

There was a delicate pinkish one that caught my eye.

The darker purple one had hairs. I didn´t know they had hairs. Well, on the large macro one can see them, I am not sure that they are visible on this reduced image.

The combination of the Lychnis coronaria and the Knautia macedonia was actually more startling to see in real life.

The Trollius Chinensis "Golden Queen" with the dark background of the shadow really stood out in that beam of sunlight.

All in all it was a really good weekend and hopefully the weather will be good later on this week, as I am taking a week´s vacation to put the finishing touches on the gardens.

your harvest is looking good. I can only wish we were harvesting instead of just planting into the greenhouse. I'll have to get picts posted soon. Our strawberries are so late ripining. Just not enough warm weather to ripen them. Your flowers are stunning.

Oh, yummy! I think that if I ever visited your lottie you'd probably have to chain me up or I'd be on all four grazing my way through your veggies and fruits before collapsing happily underneath a clump of sweet-smelling blooms.

Everything is looking so good! Your tomato plants look very happy and healthy! Speaking of tomato plants, while searching the garden the other night I found 3 plants with tomatoes on them! This is the earliest I have ever had tomatoes on my plants.

Thanks very much for your nice words, folks.

Ha ha ha... oh dear me, Droopy--that responce of yours really gave me a hilarious image in my head. Well, I don't have any chains so I guess you'd have to graze on through. I reckon that you could collapse in the shadow plot when you were satieated. hahahah. I am still chuckling.

Hiyah G'mama--I've got some toms as well. Sadly I lopped one off by accident when I was pruning. :( Oh, oh, oh--what am I like!

Eileen--have yours gotten any little blooms yet? I look foreward to arriving at the lottie each day and the first thing that I do is open the door to the greenhouse and give each plant a little shake to get the pollen floating about.

Petunia--ypu be sure and take some pics now...I am not the only one here waiting to see them, y'know. ;)

Netty--that "Golden Queen" is a plant that everyone should have in their flower garden, in my opinion. Planted in a clump of at least five plants. They are such exotic-looking things (when you can keep the slugs off 'em).

As usual Sjoerd, it all looks amazing! I am mighty jealous of your peas. As you know, the pigeons seem to be targetting mine this year. What is Purslane like? I have seeds but have never grown it. All being well, I plan to spend saturday on the allotment, no idea what I will be harvesting though.

Thanks so much for al your very nice comments.
EJ--It is difficult to explain what Purslain is like. It's the sort of vegetable that one likes or dislikes...no middle ground. I find the consistency a bit slimey.
The peas are almost finished, but no worry there...the Kapucijners are full in bloom and almost 5 feet tall now. We have been eating the peas fresh mostly, the Kapucijners we will bag and freeze for storage because they seem to freeze-in better than other types of peas.
Good to hear that you may get over the lottie today. I hope you have lots to harvest and show on here.
