Has anyone grown Casterbeans? I remember my Mom growing these while growing up in Northern Illinois.
I'm going to try them here. She used the goat manure from our goats and they got very tall.

I had one growing, but it's life was cut short by Hurricane Rita. I wasn't too sad to see it go since they are so poisonous (and there were kids and animals around). But it sure was pretty.

I grow them, too. When the flowers fade, I cut them off and dispose of them before the beans form.

I grow them too. The are nice plants, very tropical looking. Only the seeds are poisonous. I actually had trouble with the deer eating all the leaves off mine!
Very easy to grow from seed.

I grow them to keep the moles away. I have a ton of seeds if anyone wants some.

I grow them also. They are very fun to watch grow because they grow so fast. Last year mine got about 10-12 feet tall.

I love them, especially the red leaf ones. I've not found them to deter moles, though.I think they give a tropical look around my pond.
