I suppose a 1907 model K Ford might be an eye catcher but it's hard to find parts in your local auto parts store. I'd still go for the 4x4. Despite the recommendation. Jerry
I'd stick with your 4x4 as it's a much more practical vehicle altogether. If the minister wants to give you his 07 Ford though I wouldn't turn it down.
He and my DH had words. This is second time trucks ( part of his sermon) Last time said no one needs a back seated 4x4 truck. Well out in sticks -last house dead end road. At that time 90% of members had 4x4 pickups. all younger members + children. They have not been back in months.
Sadly, the lemon laws don't apply to defective preachers. It might be best to trade him in on a model with fewer factory defects.
Wow, that is too bad KK. really, the bible doesn't worry too much of our mode of transportation, just to "not forsake the assembling of the saints", so I am thinking he must have a personal issue with a truck (or lack there of). That is just a shame. When I am making the payments on my vehicle it shouldn't be a worry to someone else what I am driving or thinks i am needing to drive. I have never heard a minister address the type of vehicle appropriate for a church member, either.
DH told him he dirt a** poor when he was a child. Worked 38 years at local plant and if he wants to buy a 4x4 or anything else he will. Sad to say church will not be there in 6 months. I know we will not.All ready went to church in town. Late service. Young minister with a band, Nice to see pews with many young members.
They just aren't making ministers like they used to. The church we used to attend had a minister that had to be asked twice to visit a member who was on his deathbed. Then he said he knew we were unhappy with some of the church activities, but "he didn't want to go there." That's why we used to attend that church.
I can talk easy to people. So asked younger ones if they was ticked. Said "you Would think Minister would stop and ask" I told him what they said. No visits at hospital. I have invited many people to church. Many come for their wedding. And have baby babtized
There is religion and then there is the spiritual. Some people have the "religion" but have left the "spiritual" out. If you cannot have empathy and caring why the heck would you attempt be a leader in the spiritual community? Sounds very sad, KK.
Jewell, you certainly got it right! I'm so tempted to send a copy of your post to our ex-minister, except I don't think he'd understand it.
He is a lay person-not true minister. So can not perform certain duties. He talked to DH. Both said they was sorry. But Dh told him. If it time to buy new pickup- or anything else. He will do so.He had made comments about oldest Son's book. Are You ready for the Rapture. Just my look alone- shut up right away.He has his points. But getting far and in between
