I didn't realize we have many flowers left and as I told you before I don't know what they are. Someone keeps stealing our labels. We always tuck them in around the base of all the plants and then they disappear......

Just some snapshots on my trip coming home while it was raining. Everyone else is showing all the beautiful flowers so I thought I'd show mine.

Hi Barb, love the roses, something about a rose, I dont do well with roses here, it is too humid and they need feeding every ten minutes, so I only have a couple of climbers, they do better than bush.

chocolate, re: roses, thanks. We have a whole rose garden and plan on expanding it next year.

Netty, thank you very much. I have gone back and re-labeld them so I may learn something, or at least I can label them in the Spring.

Sjoerd, Thanks. I had to Google that but now I know what it is. I don't remember where I got this or when I got it but I noticed it for the first time this fall. I love it.

I think I have to add more of all of these plants next year to make them more full. I really like them.

Thanks all, All of these seem to be wanting to keep blooming on and on. They are going strong. Frost is going to hit an hour north of us so we will be OK for the night but next week we may get hit with it. We plan on covering all the flower gardens, and also the hot peckers and the 100 bell pecker plants will be covered with sheets. We could get another month out of them....

I really love the color of the Monkshood.
I'm curious though about the Flamingo Flower. Is this just another common name for a Celosia or Rooster Comb or Cocks Comb?

Netty said it was Flamingo Flower, see her post above. I will be happy to change it if it is incorrect, she won't mind.

I can tell you my friend gave me a starter plant. I buried it and then forgot where I had planted it. Didn't visit it till I went out to take these pictures so it was a surprise to me.

This woman has all kinds of Cocks Comb looking things in her yard so I don't know what it is. Looks a little like a Cocks Comb but seems to be a little different. I should go over to her house and ask her exactly what it is. My new phone ate her phone number so I can't call her.

Not that I doubted you Barb, and Netty, and as you know there are lots of common names for plants.
I did an online search for Flamingo Plant and not Flamingo Feather Plant. Two totally different things!
At least we all concur that it is a Celosia... and lovely colored one too! :stew2:

I will be going to my friends house to ask her what that plant is today. I will also retrieve her phone number again. :D

So how do you propagate Monkshood. Will it have seeds after flowering? I would like to make more of them because I like it also.

My favorites are the Aconites or Monkshood. Such a spectacular shade of blue. Rivals delphiniums.I have a plant that comes back every year, gets 3 feet tall & starts to turn brown & dies off. I first thought it had died but it keeps coming back.Sure would like it to grow on & bloom. My friend has some she raised from seeds.
About the Flamingo feather Celosia,I'm looking for seeds of 1 called flamingo feather that gets 4 ft tall.
One variety has purplish leaves & flowers.I think there is one with green leaves & pink flowers. It is a self seeder but I lost it.
