My oldest daughter teaches 6th and 7th grade science and last Friday was the last day of school for the two week holiday break. Walking thru the garage, in the dark since she thought she knew where everything was, she tripped over some newly misplaced toys and fell on her right arm and because she had hoped to catch herself with her hands the arm was straight out with elbow locked. She now has a split in her Ulna almost all the way from her elbow to the wrist. Temporary cast now until she can get to an Orthopedic doctor this next week. Constant nagging pain, much discomfort and not sure what the Ortho Dr will want to do...she could use some good thoughts sent her way. She is right handed too, it was sort of funny watching her feed herself with her left hand yesterday, thankfully she was laughing too....but that just might have been giddiness from the pain meds. Thanks you all.
Awww Toni what a thing to happen to her - especially at this time of year. I really hope that when she sees the Orthopedic doctor he/she will be able to do something for your daughter that will stop the pain and send her down the road to recovery. I'll send our some strong Scottish healing vibes in the hope they reach her and help her. >>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> >>>>>> >>>> >> > There those should do the trick nicely.
Sending dome healing thoughts her way. I am wondering if he will use screws and plates. It is important that this type of fracture heals exactly properly, otherwise it may be a weak place for several years, so to speak. Let us know how the orthopaedic m.d. will approach this Fx. Darn...that was bad luck!
That hurts just thinking about it. Hope she gets to the Ortho Dr. soon and it will heal quickly. Will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh dear, what a rotten thing. Many many healing thoughts from me to her. I hope the tx and recovery go very smoothly. Hope they get a handle on her pain too.
sending 'healing vibes' her way toni! you might try wrapping her arm in comfrey leaves that were steeped in hot water and wrapped up with cheesecloth. comfrey is known to knit/heal bones back together!
Thanks everyone, I know she appreciates the good vibes she feels whether she understands where they came from or not The husband of her Dermatologist is an Orthopedic Doctor, their three children have been students of her over the years, so she is very hopeful of getting in to see him tomorrow unless they are out of town for the holiday week. I really hope the split isn't severe enough for surgery.
toni toni I'm so sorry to here about your daughter,I send prayers for her and hope she gets better real soon, Those orthopedic Drs. do really good good work now days, After I had Cancer, a couple years back after all the 39 Radiation treatments it made my bones brittle and my ribs kept breaking and know one could figure out why, So they put it all together and said those treatments are what done it, so they removed 4 ribs and put in Titanium plates which has about 44 screws in them , But the Drs. knew what they were doing because I haven't had a broken rib since, I was just turning over in bed and a rib broke it was painful, I was really thankful they finally found out what it was, And your daughter will be fine to it might just take it a little while, Good Blessings Your way, Let us know how she gets. Margie
Youch and youch again. Poor thing, sounds like a tricky injury. Sending her lots of cyber healing thoughts as we speak and hope she can get seen by the doctor this week. xx
