My daft Nan (my late dad's mum) had a fall today, and managed to break her hip. She was taken into hospital in Basingstoke and they are going to operate on her tomorrow to repair the break with a plate. She is in her 90's, so of course, we are all concerned about the effects of the op, but she has to have it so if you could all spare a thought for her, I know how powerful GardenStews collective cyber strength is, I would be thankful. I will keep you posted as I receive news.
We'll do that, too, EJ. dr's mom broke the same hip three times. She came through the surgeries okay. She can't live alone anymore but she is doing well. She will be 95 in February. dooley
You can count on our thoughts, dear lady. What a painful and unfortunate accident. Darn! It sounds like a plate is a good re-enforcing/repair option since her bones are no doubt quite brittle now. All fingers crossed for a sucessful op and speedy recovery. ....a little extra thought to you, EJ for a bit of additional strength and support to get through this YOURSELF!
EJ... your Nan has my most sincere good thoughts for a easy and uncomplicated surgery and recovery... and for you and your family too.
I'm keeping everything tightly crossed that your nan gets through the operation without any complications EJ. Tell her we're all rooting for her won't you?
So far so good. See, I knew you lot could do it. She has had the surgery to put in a plate and various other pieces of metal work to hold things together, and she has come through with no complications. That is all I know for now as my aunt and uncle will go and visit her this evening and then give me a call. Thanks for your kind wishes everyone.
