Spoke to my mum today and she just dropped into the conversation that my sister has found a lump in her breast. My sister couldn't bring herself to tell me as she knows what an emotional wreck I am at the best of times. She is going for tests on Monday, so please keep everything crossed for me that it is nothing to worry about.
Definitely EJ! Hold this thought--most lumps are benign, and those that aren't can be dealt with nowadays due to the advances in medicine. Please let us know the tests' outcome.
Gosh EJ your family is really going through the mill. I sincerely hope that the lump in your sister's breast is benign. Sending all the virtual healing vibes I can muster in the hope they help.
Of course I will send lots of good wishes and positive thoughts over that way. I hope that you won't become too emotional just yet though, as first of all the breast mass must be evaluated. Did you know that less than ¼ of all breast masses are cancerous? When one is in this period of not knowing the Dx, then they should look at the percentages of likelihood. Once that mass has been biopsied, then there will be answers...and then a course of action may be planned. I hope that you can keep that upper lip stiff and remain positive. Hang in there, EJ....your pals here are with you.
Oh Emma, I can quite imagine all the emotions that are running through your mind, especially at this time of year. It goes without saying that we are all here sending you, your Mum and your sister positive vibes. As marling says, most are benign, so hang on to that thought and send good wishes to your sister for Monday.
Emma I am praying for all of you! It was Christmas last year that my mom was diagnosed :'( It has been one year and she is doing fabulous!!! Stay strong and don't scare yourself! When Mom told me hers was cancerous I started reading everything I could get my hands on. I became obsessed with it and I don't think that was the right thing to do. My advice would be to take it one day at a time, say lots of prayers and stay strong. We're here for you :-D
EJ all good, healthy thoughts and prayers to your sis. Take good care of yourself ya!!Praying for you too and be strong, it might be just nothing.
An update. She ended up going in to hosptial on Friday night as she was suffering so much pain around the lump. The surgeon examined her and is fairly confident that it is just a horrid infection with nothing sinister behind it. They were going to cut the area away, but decided against that, and this afternoon he attempted to drain some of the infection away with a needle. However, he wasn't able to remove as much as he hoped, so she is on the ward again tonight being dosed up with antibiotics through a drip, then they will examine her again tomorrow and make the next decision. Fingers crossed it is only an infection and they can treat it. I will keep you all posted of course. Thanks for your good wishes, thoughts and prayers...I know from experience with you lot how powerful your vibes can be. xxx
Thanks for that update EJ... I hope this course of tx improves things very quickly for your sis so that everyone can relax. Hugs.
Thanks for your update, Emma. I suppose that they will culture what they were able to aspirate, right. The antibiotics hopefully will begin the resolving process, but when the culture and sensitivity comes back the docs will know exactly what antibiotic is the best. All-in-all, I'd say that this is a positive note, wouldn't you? Continued vibe transfer.
That's good news! I hope tomorrow's news is even better. Our good thoughts and healing vibes are still flying through the sky. Hopefully they will land in the right place. dooley
