This afternoon, I was out back pinching back
my basil which is very busy putting forth flower spikes. By the time I was finished, both of my hands were brimming with flowers buds, small leaflets
and stems of this basil plant. Let me tell you, the smell that arose was pure heaven. Sweet, spicy and fresh! Now if I could just get my husband to dab a bit behind his ears!

Basil smells almost as good as it tastes! I hope you didn't wash your hands for a while and were able to enjoy your free perfume!
When I come in after working in the herb garden, our cat has to give me a good sniffing. She seems to prefer sage, but likes basil, too.

I wouldn't ask my husband to dab basil behind his ears. In my confusion I might take a bite off him. :D I love basil with tomatos, cucumbers and feta cheese.

If I dabbed basil behind Ian's ears and probably chew on them in my sleep and he might find that a tad painful!! ;) Basil is such a wonderful smell that I hate to wash my hands afeter cropping it.
