I planted all my Heirlooms Back in Feb and I had one big harvest. Then it got really hot over 100. They still kept growing but not producing any tomatoes. Now the weather is cooling off and I am getting more tomatoes again. I am so happy. Next year I will plant some Heat tolerant tomatoes in addition to my heirlooms. So I will be able to have tomatoes during the summer time. It's only my third year gardening so I am still learning by trial and error.

FWIW tomato pollen does not migrate well (inside the flower) when temperature rise above 9o° F.

heat tolerant tomato may fare better than other OP tomato but you may need to also think of two tomato seasons...

Thank you. They were great. I'm looking forward to the next harvest in a month or so. I'll post more pics when those come in. I have 3 Yellow Brandywine, and 5 Paul Robenson tomatoes, all about the size of a golf ball right now.

Great, I planted some heirloom tomatoes, LOL, they finally have some tiny green tomatoes on them. Up here in the northwest, only my early girls got any red tomatoes at all.

rick, Those look beautiful. You did a great job. As Coppice said, extreme heat does kill the pollen. When it gets that hot the blossoms won't pollinate and they drop off with out you even noticing. That happened to us this summer during July. for about 2 weeks at the end of August we had no toms to pick.
