I did this all backwards..typical of me! I came back to GardenStew to ask for advice after years of being away. I joined when I lived in Kuwait and was desperate to learn how to grow vegetables in an arid, desert climate. I moved to England and "disappeared" because the soil in my new home was fantastic and I was so busy establishing new gardens. (No excuse!) Anyway, thanks to all for forgiving me and welcoming me back! (Although you are all bad influences- as soon as I get back to England, I am expanding my gardens even more. Your pictures are so inspiring!)For now, I am in the U.S., trying to make my mother-in-law's garden as work free as possible. Thank you again for all of your support and kind words.
Hey, I'm just glad to see you posting again, and am very happy to be a bad influence. I remember your garden in Kuwait, and would love to see your English garden, once you get the time.
I remember your gardening adventures in Kuwait also TBL. Quite a different climate in England! Welcome back to the Stew
Well hello!! I thought you'd dropped completely off the radar. So pleased to see you posting here again and glad to hear that you're still as addicted to gardening. :-D
Hello again TBL, very glad to see you back with us. I can imagine how wonderfully addictive gardening became when you moved to England and could get just about anything to grow and thrive. Now we require photos when you get back home. I don't think any of us mind being called a bad influence when it comes to gardening. I am usually referred to an an enabler but will happily add bad influence to my list of nicknames.
Thank you for the warm welcome back!!! I will defintely post pictures when I return home in August. (After I tackle the massive weeding and staking I am sure awaits me! Morning glory and bindweeds are my bane back there.) Toni, you have been an influence, enabler and an inspiration. I will never look at something I picked up at a thrift shop, sale, curb side, etc without thinking of you. I love seeing what you do with your finds. And so many people here were so helpful when I was struggling with learning how to garden in new climates. I love everyone's photos, they lead to great new ideas and fixes for "problem" areas. I am glad that I came back here, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it..and how much time has gone by!
A big really warm welcome from Wisconsin. I'm a little late in welcoming you to the Stew. But glad you found you way back to this great gardening community with friendly folks from all over the world. Looking forward to seeing pic of your gardens. That is so good of you to help out your relatives. Especially when they are on the otherside of the big pond so to speak.
