so i filled in the pond and got cracking with some crazy paving at the back of my veggie plot, and in front of the conifer which im thinking could be some kind of dry shade rockery underneath there.

got this for my birthday. really pleased with it and had some cactus seed in there within 5 minutes of getting it. find my self constantly checking it though . . is it working? is it warm? is it getting enough light? is it getting warm enough? arrrgghhh!! :)
so thats my little update, not much else happening. got our first frost this morning, been a long time coming but its finally arrived, although its supposed to get warmer over the next few days. this time last year we had a good 6" of snow. shocking weather for this time of year.

    good day!!! :)

Hi there Lukey - nice to see you back with us again. Love your birthday gift. I have one too and wouldn't be without it. What a pity you had to fill in your pond but you're doing a grand job on that crazy paving.

Hi Lukey, Glad you are back. I was just thinking that you hadn't been here for a while. Happy Birthday, too. Nice present.

thanks guys!! :-D do you know much about these heated propagators?? can i leave it on permanantly? the instructions i got with it were pretty basic and didn't explain alot. i've searched the net for a little more info but no joy yet :) i've been leaving it on at night when the temp drops and leaving it off through the day.

    Welcome back, you were missed!
I envy you that propagator. I have a home-made one (not nearly as nice nor as "professional" as yours). I hung a cheap thermometer right next to it and when the ambient temperature was 70 or above, I turned off the heat mat below. At night, the heat was always on. Does that help?

yeah that helps alot, i knew it wouldn't need the heat during the day but then started to wonder if turning the heat on and off would have an effect. a thermometer is my next purchase i think :)

Welcome back Luke! I too like that birthday present of yours.
I've been thinking whether or not to start some seeds indoors again this year. My first thought was just to wait until spring and sow them directly outdoors. But, with nothing to do in the garden, I think I need to start them indoors just to have something to tend to! :-D

Lukey, Very nice propagator. You will do well with it.

Happy Birthday to you on the big 30 event.

I was wondering how you have done with that pond. Good to see the progress.
