    A little bit about me:
Originally from Rome, NY, I've lived in NYC for about 18 years. My background is in interior design and fine arts. Over the years, I came to know many musicians which led to producing monthly live Jazz performances in my home that are open to the general public. Hence, my evolution continues as I've added: PR, producing and marketing to my background due to these Jazz performances. Over the years, I realized that while I continue to hold a love for "design done well" and all things creative in general, my attitude towards placing such importance on material "things" (an absolute requisite in the high-end residential interior design/decorating field), wanned in comparison to the passion I found myself developing for the natural beauty found in nature, the serenity it brings, helping people on a more spiritual level and the importance of harmonizing ourselves with nature and each other. I realized that my "passion" had changed. Those massages that I'd become so addicted to during vacations (and whenever else I could afford one) made me want to give THAT to others. A little research led me to quitting my job, going back to school and becoming a NY State licensed Massage Therapist. That, in turn, has opened many other doors! I've always been a lover of design, music and the Arts in general, I therefore find myself creating a new life surrounded by all of those elements I DO have a passion for. Never one to feel that the past endeavors were "wasted", my design background comes back into play with everything I do...from creating a backyard garden oasis and producing live Jazz concerts once a month in my home. Weather permitting, our concert guests have an opportunity to mix & mingle, meet the musicians and enjoy the back yard in between music sets.

I'll be finished with school in December, take the licensing exam in Jan '09 and continue this wonderful journey. We've since incorporated our home Jazz concerts into a not-for-profit org. and will continue to growing that as well.
I Turn 50 this year!...and that is another milestone in my life of which I'm very proud! Around every corner is an adventure! I'm quite satisfied.
..and THAT, as they say, is a VERY long story, short! :)

Hi Jim - what a great intro!!! Lovely to have you here with us on our forums. My husband is a jazz fan and he'd love to listen to your music I'm sure. It's a pity we live in Scotland sometimes.

    Thank you all!

Thanks everyone for such a wonderfully warm welcome. I totally feel at home here. Isn't it obvious? I'm only leaving 3-page responses! :)
I look forward to getting advise from you all as well. I'm still a "rookie" at this gardening thing. I will definitely keep you all up to date on the progress. I can't wait to see if this "moss" thing turn out.
I'll send more pics as I find them of the garden past.
I wish there was a way to add music to my page...hmmm.
    Best,
    Jim

If there's a way to add music, Frank would know. Send him a PM and he'll let you know. I'd love to hear it.

    Re: Thank you all!

Hi Jim, while it's not possible to add music straight into posts here you can however link to a music file if you have one stored on an outside site. Hope this helps.

Link to one of my Jazz sites - 7 tunes

I hope that you all will be able to open this. It is my site on "The Global Jazz Network". My page is set up to begin playing a set playlist of 7 tunes, in order. The first song "New York Afternoon" is a gem from the early 80's,by the vocal group, "Rare Silk" (similar to the Manhattan Transfer's style) Unfortunately, they disbanded a about three years after making this great tune. The tunes: "Crash" Manhattan Vibes; "Never Let Me Go" by Denise King & her Quartet; and "Ivar" by Lines of Reason. They are all friends of mine that have played at my home during our "ParlorJazz" sessions at one time or another.
I hope that you find something that you like. From time to time, I will provide more links if you wish.
The two tunes I that are also on this list that I failed to mention are: "Karioka" by Freddie Hubbard and "Somethin' Else" by Miles Davis.

My music listing on that site will be found in the left-hand column. Just scroll down a bit and you'll see it right under the "MY Friends" category. By the time you find the list, the music will probably already have started playing.

Let me know if this works for you.
