Hey Mr Caudex... I can tell which plants you fancy. Me too. Not only those, but they're cool. I love your succulents, pots and the white rocks on top
Hi there, a really nice collection, are they inside all year?I have some of those but they live outside all year, our climate is different of course, yours look great and well cared for.
Hello Joe and welcome to GardenStew from Scotland in the UK. You have some wonderful plants in your collection. Many thanks for sharing them with us all.
Thanks for the lovely comments guys. As you can tell I like my caudiciforms! They are all in all year round apart from the aeonium and the Agave. They only go out in summer though. I have some more weird and wonderful caudiciforms coming soon so will post up some more pictures then. Does anyone know the name of the one above that I've forgotten?
Joe, welcome! Those are such healthy looking plants--not a damaged or off-color leaf among them all. Amazing! Agave grows naturally here in Texas. We occasionally get one in the pasture and remove it since those spines really can tear up your jeans.
How big do they get over there? Mine was a tiny baby from my Mum's mother plant which sadly was killed by frost. It was about 7 feet tall before it died! Glad to find people who appreciate such amazing plants. I'm becoming more and more obsessed!
Hi Joe and welcome. I love the last one the aeoniuom velour. Beautiful color. I am not normally appreciative of the form, but this one I like. The rest of your collection is interesting also. Is the Agave the same one that is used to produce agave nectar/syrup/sugar that I have seen for sale?
I'm not actually sure about that. There are many species but I'm not sure which is used for agave syrup. I wouldn't want to hurt my plant by taking it's sap though!
I was in fact wrong with my ID of the Aeonium. It is in fact an Aeonium Arboreum "Schwarzkopf". My girlfriend's Mum gave it to me as a cutting. Went to visit this weekend and took a picture of the mother plant which you may be interested in! Stunning!
Hi there Joe, You have my favorite things there also. I love them Pachypodium sandersoni Dioscorea macrostachys Dioscorea elephantipes Gerrardanthus macrorhizus Welcome to our little friendly world. Barb in Pa.
