Hi, I'm just another city girl who moved to a farmlette and am trying to learn as much as I can, as quickly as I can. I'm most interested in vegetable and herb gardening, but will add more bulbs and flowers after I get more land cleared for beds.

I'm really looking forward to learning from more experienced gardeners and offering advice and information when and where I can.

Edit...I do write under my real name. I've been blogging online for several years and I prefer it. It is much easier to remember.

A big welcome from up north a ways to one of my favorite places, NC. Enjoy your stay here. Here is hoping you post pictures of all your beautiful land around you. I for one would love that.

Hi Barb, and thank you for the welcome. I will certainly post pictures once I get settled in. My newest fascination are blooms on veggies and fruits.

I have so much to learn. At this point any success is accidental and I never seem to have the same experience with the same vegetable from year to year.

Thank you Eileen. I'm really happy to have found the site. My husband's family is from Scotland and my youngest plans to go to graduate school in Edinburgh. That is several years down the road, but I already can't wait to visit her...lol

Thank you, Frank. The site is very intuitive and I've already started working on my garden here. I do need to edit my photographs prior to uploading, but hope to find the time soon.

Hello, and welcome to one of the friendliest and most informative gardening forums around!
We, too, moved to a small farm (10 acres) about five years ago and have been cleaning up/reclaiming it ever since. We have vegetable gardens, herb beds, chickens, flower beds, and bee hives. The GardenStew has been a goldmine of information and encouragement. You'll enjoy your time here, and meeting the nice folks that contribute to our mutual knowledge.

Hi Betsy, welcome from a distant now very hot land. Mine is not even a very small farm but my front yard which I call it mini-farm. Even though it is just my front yard, we hardly buy veggies or herbs from the market.

Great to have you here!!! :)
