Hello... my name is Jodi, and I'll be joining you from the countryside of middle Illinois, gardening zone 5b. I'm an avid collector of Amaryllids, mainly Hippeastrums. I also do quite a bit of outdoor gardening, with Miniature Roses and Irises my favorite plants.

I look forward to reading the forums and checking out everyone's photos. Have a great day!

Hi Jodi and welcome from Maryland. I lived for 5 years in Chicago and remember that rich dark soil -- it was gorgeous. And the lilacs! Are they common in your part of the state?
