Hello Everyone and pleased to meet you. I have a butterfly garden in southwestern Mexico which has really turned into a nectar lovers garden hosting butterflies, bees, hummingbirds. I am from the Pacific Northwest USA and am here enjoying my new climate. One of the best things about gardening in the Tropics is that you can garden year around. One of the worst things about gardening in the Tropics is that you can garden year around. vitrsna (aka Beverly):)

Hi Beverly and a hearty welcome to GardenStew :hi: The thing about all-year-round gardening members here is that they are invaluable to those members here with more seasonal climates. This is because when it's gray and drab during our winters you all can still show us colour!
Looking forward to getting to know you :like:

Thank you for the welcome Frank. I'll do my best to add some color...we do have a rainy season though, and tropical rains can come down in torrents wrecking all kinds of havoc...the good news is that it is always warm rain. This doesn't happen in the traditional "winter" months but rather about July to mid-October.

Hi Beverly, welcome to Gardenstew from Chelmsford, MA. You will find we love pictures. Soon you will see lots of our plants from gardens that have been resting during the long cold winter. A warm welcome to our garden community.

Hi Beverly, welcome to GardenStew from north central Texas where our gardening weather has been something like zone 11 the last few years. The weeds love it even if the perennials know when to sleep for a few months. Pacific Northwest to Mexico....that's quite a climate change.

Thank you mskitty, wannabe, Donna S, and Eileen for your warm greetings. I feel right at home and i do believe i'll stay around. I've been here for 5 days and each day i learn new things about this site and the more i learn, the more i like. I'd love to chat more but right now i am wanting to spend each day i can in the garden. Then, when the sun goes down, i do all the things that i neglected while i was in the garden. Still i manage to spend a little time each evening at GardenStew. When the rainy season starts in July, i'll have more time for chatting and sharing experiences and ideas and getting to know more members:)
