Hi Everyone, I live in Denver, CO and have a couple of herb containers on my balcony. As my first foray into gardening I can't believe how they are flourishing! I have a large container of sage, rosemary, thyme, and basil. My sage is starting to crowd the other plants. Does anyone have tips on how to safely move the sage to its own pot? I have never done this before and don't want to damage the sage or other herbs. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, Sarah
Hi Sarah, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. I lived in Denver back about 40 years ago, I imagine it has changed a lot since then. It would be easiest to remove the Sage right after giving the pot a good soaking. Use a dinner fork to dig down around the Sage and gently lift it out. The others you will be able to use the fork on and gently move them to fill in the empty space. Shouldn't hurt them at all.
Hi Sarah. I'm a first year vegetable gardener just north of the border from you in Wyoming. Welcome to the Stew.
Hi sarah. Welcome to the stew. where we all love being by the way. It's actually quite addicting. After a while you might need to join GAA. (gardeners anonymous association)

Hi Sarah, Welcome from a far & hot land! I have moved my sage from one pot to another without much success. Nowadays I'll plant a fresh cutting from the plant I want to move or change the earth in the pot just in case the main plant don't make it I'll still have a plant.
