    Hi,
Just wanted to say how happy I am to have found Garden Stew site. Your members have already helped me out with a couple of questions. I have had annual flower gardens in the past, but last year we moved into a home with a beautiful perennial garden. It had been neglected for a couple of years and weeds had taken a firm hold. As well, I still don't know exactly what is there, despite pouring through flower guides, so your members will be a great assistance in identifying and maintaining these flowers and shrubs. All the best everyone. Great to join you :-D

Hiya mcrait [IMG] it's great to meet you.

Refurbishing a neglected garden is a lot of hard work,
but it should be great fun to find out what forgotten treasures you already have growing
and then adding things that you love which will make it "your" garden.

    Hi,
Spent the morning digging up the poor little dwarf irises that where being overwhelmed with dandelions. They were due to be divided anyway because there were an amazing number of them. It is kind of nice to be able to share plants with others. I am going to take some to my mother-in-law for her little garden in Kingston.

Thanks for all the nice greetings everyone. I look forward to keeping you posted on my progress.

I never knew gardening could be so enjoyable :-o

Welcome mcrait from Michigan. Glad you are saving the perennial bed and not mowing it down as some would.
