    Hi,

I am a Brit married to an American and living in Holland. We bought our first house 3.5years ago and have been busy making it our own. I enjoy painting and DIY but sometimes I find myself at a loss as to what I need to do next - especially because I don't speak Dutch so I can't even read any instructions in the DIY stores! Makes for some interesting situations!

I am looking forward to getting to know you all and participating in the forum. I hope to learn lots - I need to!

Hi Caffrey!!! :D WELCOME to our forums. We have a Dutchman here at GardenStew (Sjoerd) who I'm sure could help you out if you're ever really stuck with something written in Dutch. I'm from Scotland and have visited Holland many times. If I ever decide to leave my home country I think Holland would be the place for me. :stew1:

Welcome caffrey, from the North Woods of Wisconsin. There sure are a lot of folks from all over the world, that can voice an opinion, on most any subject. Tons of good advice, and just plain nice folks.

    Thanks everyone!

I will try to post some pics for all of you in the next couple of days. I wish I'd taken before pics! I'll have to see what I have on the main computer.

The one thing I just cannot wrap my head around (and I am sure this is going to go down like a lead balloon here) is the garden. I just cannot seem to do anything right with it and it just always looks such a mess. We have finally decided to have a professional come and do the entire thing this year. Urg.

Petunia, it is quite mild here right now. We do get snow but mainly just a sprinkle and that will last a couple of days at the most. Last summer was quite mild too although the few before that were way too hot and humid for my liking! I'm hoping for mild again this year! I hope it thaws out a little in Michigan soon.

Hi Caffrey from northeast Wisconsin where it's snowing here again today. It's O.K. to get professional help with your yard...once the groundwork is done the fun can begin!
