Hello to all of the green thumbs! I live in Houston, but am originally from Ohio, and have attempted to garden several times, most of which were failed attempts. Are there any helpful tips for planting/ maintaining/identifying Texas native plants?
Hi se, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. Some of the best places to learn about our native plants is http://www.nativesoftexas.com/catalog.html http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/orna ... common.htm http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/orna ... iveshrubs/ http://www.npot.org/ If you ever get the chance, visit the LadyBird Johnson Wildflower Center outside of Austin. Lots of wonderful information there and in the spring you can tour the gardens.
Welcome to the Stew from Norway! I wish you luck with your gardening. It's such fun when you get the right plants for your conditions, and very relaxing too.

Hi and welcome! I recently moved to Texas, too. I have expert advice from across the road though. I moved across the road from Glendann. She's always lived here and should know what will grow. As an "old" gardener though I'll probably try a little of everything. dooley
