Nice to find this lovely place that is active. I've been a homeowner for many years and had many different types of garden spots in the various places I've lived. I recently moved back to the Chicago area and the new house has a lot of old plants and overgrown brush. This is the first place I've ever owned that has so much to get control of. LOL Having just moved in last summer, the most I got done was clearing away a lot of the serious overgrowth and trying to decide what to do with the small property to make it look its best. I'm looking forward to meeting you all, and learning from you. In fact, I have a question about a plant I can't identify that I'm going to post in that section soon. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Tami

Thanks for the welcome Dooley and Toni. Dang, I'm kicking myself for not getting any pics last summer before I whipped the incredibly overgrown shrubbery into shape. It's actually looking much nicer now, and I'm working this spring to make the spaces my own. LOL There's still some whipping needed, but it's nowhere near what it was last year. We moved in mid-summer and spent all of that time cutting, whacking and pulling. LOL

Thanks for the great welcome everyone. Yeah, SewNSow, I was one of the jumpers, but I figured if the stuff I planted ends up dying in a freeze, I'll just re-do it. At least I got a few lovely days of flowers and hopeful seedlings in the meantime. LOL It sure has been beautiful.
