Hello, I'm from Maine. I love my garden, even though I am getting used to everything in it. I recently found a flower in it that I need to identify. It is royal purple. It has five petals on the outside, it's star shaped. The middle has five cupshaped petals. They are beautiful, and again, I need help identifying it. Thank you, and God Bless. :?:
Hi StarryEyes, welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. Lots of good information here and if you don't find what you need you can fell free to ask. If you could post a photo of the unknown plant in the Plant ID forum.... http://www.gardenstew.com/viewforum.php?f=30 someone on here is bound to know what it is. Pictures are the most efficient way to get an absolute ID because many flowers look very similar to each other.
Lovely to have you here at GardenStew StarryEyes. :-D From your description the mystery flower you have may be Aquilegia/Columbine.
