I'm new to this type of social media experience. Please bear with me. My son takes photos of interesting flowers he sees in nature and sends them to me. He recently sent a photo of a sweet little red star-shaped flower which grows on his backyard fence. Try as I might, I can't discover the name of the flower, although I did discover a photo online. Now I need to have him resize his photo to less than 500 pixels wide so I can upload it and ask your help. Will get in touch later. Maria Dyson
Welcome to GardenStew, hope you enjoy the forum. Any chance that this is the flower? Click on the blue link Ipomoea quamoclit (Cardinal Creeper, Cypress Vine)
Welcome from just down the road... between Beaumont & Houston. That's the first thing I pictured when I read your description of the flower.
