Hello friends. Coming here, introduced through another new 'seed' that got sown in Mexico. I love Gardening, Nature and to take some photographs. Attached is a photo I took on Sunday - can you guess what it is?
Welcome to GardenStew Dinu. I have a feeling you're going to enjoy being here and we look forward to getting to know you.
Hi and welcome from SE Texas. I had to look up Mysuru. Can't wait to see what all you grow over there. And I don't have a guess what your picture is. How long before you tell us?
Hi Dinu and a hearty welcome to GardenStew I believe I know who recommended you to join us You won't regret it as you will meet lots of friendly and knowledgeable members from all over the world.
Welcome Dinu...i think you meant to say "from half way around the world" (rather than America). Maybe you can edit it? My guess is you wrote this while you were being rudely interrupted at work or either very late at night. This is an intriguing photo. I see no one has tried to guess what it is...me included. How long are you going to keep us in suspense? I hope you will pin the map so we can see that India now is represented by an illustrious person such as yourself. I can't wait to see photos of your beautiful and charming garden! Okay, the photo is not of something organic i think...there is some kind of clip? and those clear round things look rubbery?
vitrsna had prepared my mind for such a welcome!! Thanks, thanks, thanks!! Indeed, I was at work and was tempted to sign in from the workdesk as I had read your mail.... and then I typed out the subject line.... in a hurry as you guess... I too read that 'round' and realized the missing 'a' a little while later and it should have been as you wrote and as I wrote in our mail quite a few times! Hello Frank.... if you can correct the subject line as vitrsna says, I'd be grateful. Sorry for this little faux pas. I can't believe this site is on for 9 years now and I must have bumped in sometime, in passing, in search of something. I must also mention that "Mysuru' is the new official spelling since Nov.1, 2014. Earlier it was 'Mysore'.. which most maps may show. But I saw on google maps - trying to mark it - that the new spelling is already in place. I did post the 'conversation'. Mysuru is in the tropical plains, in Zone 10a. On Sunday, I ventured to try some reverse lens macros using my daughter's Canon 550d, with a 55-250 lens. These shots require a very steady hands and may be because I'm a teetotaler, this shot was possible... I mean the starter image... which is of a Water Hyacinth in my little pond. Taken at around 10 am when the stamens are fresh.
Hi Dinu, welcome to GardenStew from north central Texas. That is a beautiful photo, I never would have guess what it was. Looking forward to seeing more photos of your plants and garden.
Dinu...i was wondering if you had a new lens to play with. A Water Hyacinth...i don't suppose any of us have seen that view of one before. It is beautiful without knowing what it is, but much more beautiful knowing. What i would love to see are some photos taken with the reverse macro lens compared with a regular close up of the same thing so that the two images are side by side or top to bottom. That would be such a cool post.
This is a close-up of the flower, actually a different flower, and you can't easily see those tiny translucent blobs! I took this with my Lumix FZ8 which I'm using since 2006. I'm glad to see the 'like' option here also. Most of us use facebook and use the like button there and it has become so addictive that we look for it in other places also!! I have also added some information in my profile page. Thanks 2ofus and toni.
