I live in south west British Columbia, just outside Vancouver, lots of rain year round. Unfortunately I did not inherit my mother's love of gardening. She passed away a couple of years ago so I can't turn to her for advice. We have just purchased a new house on 12,000 square foot lot. It was previously rented out and tenants mowed the lawn but the garden is overgrown. I'll be posting more about that and with photos in the next couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get lots of tips into turning this overgrown mess into a beautiful garden.
Morning Whistler and WELCOME to GardenStew from Scotland!! Feel free to ask as many questions as you like here as we do soooo love to help others out. Looking forward to getting to know you. :-D
Welcome to GardenStew Whistler, sounds like you have quite an interesting project on your hands. Stick with it, it'll be worth it when you can take a stroll around your garden in a few years and say "I did this" Make sure to check out our blogs, member map and calendar. // Frank
Hello Whistler Welcome to the forum from southern Ontario! Sometimes restoring a garden is just as rewarding as building your own! Can't wait to see your work in progress.
Thanks for the welcome! Eileen, my mother was from Glasgow. Our house always had flowers and shrubs to equal any British garden. Until the 70's when my mother got into her Japanese garden stage. We get possession on Saturday and I'll take some photos this weekend and post them in another discussion forum. I'll need lots of help with this project!
Hiya whistler. A very warm welcome from North Carolina. Congratulations on your new home, you'll feel such pleasure from making the garden your own. :-D
