I look forward to participating in this group. My Mom was English and a natural gardner from whom I learned much about gardening. In Texas the secret is water, water, water. Although I live in a modest house in the burbs, there is an abundance of landscaping. One side yard has a flagstone path with curved beds on each side and a table with an awning just outside the kitchen for early coffee. The front yard has an interesting array of mostly evergreens and six mature crepe myrtle trees which are putting on quite a show right now. In the back there is a pool with beds all around, a brick terrace patio, a grass terrace and room to entertain close to the water, and a colorful hammock I picked up in Cozumel. Besides enjoying my home, I am a grandmother to 2 teenage boys and a full time massage therapist and salon owner. I read every minute I can and recently got the Amazon Kindle (ebook reader) as a gift, which has transformed my reading. I also have a pet bunny who has the run of the house and backyard. Rabbits are good pets, but a little skittish. He is a miniature bunny and extremely cute.I also have quite a bit of yard art varying from a sophisticated ballerina to my gnome garden collection. I enjoy finding way to add interest and focal points to my landscape that don't have to be watered! I look forward to "meeting " some of you soon.
