New to GardenStew forums and blogs. We live in SW Minnesota on a small acerage farm . I've been gardening for what seems like my entire life. Starting from eating quite a few carrots when I was a little gipper in my pa's garden to now as an adult, growing about 80% of what my family eats year round. Plus I am a Market Farmer-stumbled upon actually- Look forward to learning and sharing with all you dirt lovers like myself. And I always love a good seed trade too!
Prairiedancer, I think you are our doppleganger! We too have a small acreage farm with vegetable, herb, and flower gardens, bee hives and hens. We are trying to grow as much of our food as we can, and sharing with the local food pantry until we build up a customer list for our veggies and herbs. So glad to have you here on GardenStew. You'll be a valuable addition, and we are looking forward to your posts (pictures would be nice, too!).
Greetings from Nebraska, and welcome to the Stew! Mother Nature is pushing winter into my area, after a great Autumn. Look forward to hearing more about you.
Thanks for the kind responses. It'll take me a bit (more like a week or two)to figure out how and where to post photos and blogs and find the forums. Until then expect some hmmm moments from me. Oh I harvested fresh parsley today to add to the fresh tomato soup thats simmering on the stove. In the wet heavy snow of course. right before cutting the parsley ( photo / image / picture from prairie_dancer's Garden ) Kale with a little snow ( photo / image / picture from prairie_dancer's Garden )
Your Kale looks lovely with its smattering of snow. :-D It's lovely to have you here on our forums so a warm welcome from West Lothian in Scotland. I look forward to getting to know you.
Welcome to the Stew from the chilly coast of northwestern Norway. I guess your winter is rather like my winter, with the frost and snow and so forth, but I also guess you've got proper warm summers. Nice to have you with us. Hop in and make yourself at home.
Welcome from another place in Texas. I don't have a large garden. In fact, this year I didn't have much garden at all. Maybe next year. We don't have any snow but we had frost last week. Last night we had about an inch of rain. I'm not fond of snow so I hope we don't get any this year. Last year it snowed one time. dooley
