Hello to all! I am new to this site and discovered it when I was looking for some recipes! I enjoy gardening and am new to canning and so far I find it very enjoyable and frustrating all at the same time since none of my family members did canning I have to rely on information from others! Thanks for any help in advance! :p

Welcome to the stew. Members here do all sorts of Canning. I now have 44 jars of jam. I don't can much else since I have a handy dandy freezer. Lots of advice to be had here though. dooley

Welcome to GardenStew from north Texas. I think we have Texans here from all of the ecoregions in the state except the far southeast and the Big Bend area to El Paso.

I haven't made jam and jelly in the amounts I used to. Do you have other hobbies? How about pictures of your gardening?

Hello 1tallmommy and welcome from the Norwegian Arctic. I love to can, and so do alot of other people on here, and they all have really great recipes. We would all love to see pics of your canning and what fruits you use. If out of the garden, well then can we see the garden too! We love pics of everything!

A warm welcome, 1tallmommy from a very small one in mid-Norway! :stew2: You've picked a good community. We love to share and be part of other people's projects. Looking forward to photos of produce before and after, and anything else you'd like to post photos of. :D

Thanks for the wonderful welcomes! For those who wanted to know other than gardening and canning I breed californian rabbits and spend the rest of my time watching after my 2 children, 8 and 4 I enoying fishing and hiking but it has become rather difficult because my son has spinal muscular atrophy type 2 and I spend the rest of my time trying to keep him healthy or in the hospital with him. I live in Troy (in the heart of Texas!) but I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. And I am 6'2"!

:stew1: 1tallmommy, can you zero in on where Troy is? Is it like a suburb of a larger town on I-35? Like Temple, San Marcus, etc. Sounds like a wonderful place to raise a family. :stew2: You do have your hands full...but you will have moral support as well as gardening, canning, questions or whatever. People occasionally even vent on here. Just know you have found a large group of very friendly people. ;)

Gaylyn, Troy is a few miles north of Temple on I-35.
