My name is Jonathan, and I'm excited to be on the site. My wife and I, along with our two kids live in the NC Piedmont area. Our families are from here and we have been at our current address for 3 years. Last year I ordered a bunch of seeds from Baker Creek, built a square foot bed and started gardening with much hope and little knowledge. Needless to say the Summer ended with little harvest and less hope. However, I channeled that frustration and lessons learned into some progress. I'm planting a few of the same crops this year and hope that my simplification and fewer crops will result in better results. I'll post pictures in the gallery later but for now I'm glad to meet some of you and look forwarded to learning and sharing our knowledge. Jon Mark P.S. We also have Rose bushes, Crape Myrtles, Camelias etc in the landscaping. My wife cares more about them and I care more about things I can eat.
A very warm WELCOME from Colima, Mexico to you Jon Mark! It is a pleasure to meet you and your family. Don't give up hope! When those crops come up beautiful and tasty, it will all be worthwhile and there are people here who will be happy to share their knowledge to get you there. Jump into a Forum, start a new thread and you are on your way.
Hi Jon and a hearty welcome to GardenStew Be sure to check out our starter pack to learn extra about the site. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures in the garden. We love to help so don't feel shy to post
Welcome from central Texas! You would not believe some of the huge gardening mistakes I've made over the years. We've all faced failures, but good gardeners are persistent gardeners, and learn what not to do as well as what to do. We'll help all we can, and provide encouragement when needed.
A warm welcome to our forums from Scotland Jonathan. I've made some real bloopers since I first started gardening. Our weather doesn't help either but I've managed to face the challenges head on and now make fewer mistakes than I used to. I'm sure we'll be able to give you a helping hand if you need it. I look forward to seeing your photographs.
Jonmark you have come to the right place for sure. Sending you a big welcome from a Stewbie in Wisconsin. We love seeing pic's of your little corner of the world. Good for you to not give up on your first veggie try and hoping you will get to eat the fruits of your labors.
