Welcome to GS Germinator, from the coastline of Karachi Pakistan! :)

I sincerely hope that you will stay with us for a very long time. And I am most happy to see that picture of Amethyst Beautyberry in your post. I had that plant when I was a kid. I think it is edible, and sometimes use in food coloring.

When I lost that plant, I never found it again. Because up till now, I didn't know what it was called. I only knew it's local name *Sana*, and this too is not widely known. I think this plant also has some medicinal value as well (for joint pain)!

By the way, if seeds are your interest - Than you've definitively come to the right place. Just have a look at our plant and seed exchange section!

Thanks so much for the warm welcomes, everyone! :-D

Too funny for someone to suggest seeds being an interest! More like an obsession! :D

I had a huge post prepared yesterday to reply, but I erased it by accident and had no more time. I'll try this again...

Amythest Beautyberry (Callicarpa) is a wonderful perennial shrub. I have rooted many cuttings from my shrubs and even sent them to other countries, where they are now successfully growing. The cuttings root super easily. Two bushes are needed for successful pollination & fruit production.

I've also collected many seeds from the berries and just this past late winter, I tested them for viability. The gemination rate was nearly 100%!!!

I belong to a number of other sites too and I just recently finished doing many trades with fellow gardeners, as I do every year. I'm taking a little break from packaging up seed but will be willing to trade with some folks real soon...

If you want something of mine but have nothing to trade, all I'd expect is for you to pay the postage. If we're trading though, we each pay the postage of our mailings to each other. Make sense?

Ok, here's some more of my plants: ;)

Hi germinator, Welcome from Ohio. I enjoyed all your pics. Thanks for sharing. The beauty berries are one of my favorite plants, but I don't have one yet. :( Hopefully soon I'll run across one when I am out and about. :stew1:

Yup, I am definitely obsessed with plants and grow them everywhere! Thanks for the welcome. ;)

I can share seeds for the Amythest Beautyberry or even cuttings with folks who wanna pay the postage. From Canada to the US, it would be about $2.50 for seeds and 5 bucks for cuttings. I would only want stamps though, not money. :)

I'm so excited about these in my south living room window today...

Hi Germinator, and Welcome. Awesome pictures of your plant babies. I need to play with my photo programs and figure out which one will shrink my photos so I can post more of them. I downloaded a few new ones to try this week, just have not yet gotten to play with them. I was given a weeping pussy willow tree for my bday this spring, but it is outdoors. I enjoyed your pics, my dogs want out for a few. :)
