Hi! I'm a native born West Virginian and Mountaineer Proud of it! I'm one of those Type A personalities who has many interests. Since I live in a West Virginia "holler" where the orientation of the house provides little sunlight and the layout permits very little indoor gardening, my gardening is pretty much outdoors gardening. This year I'm a bit behind. . . still getting my beds cleaned up from winter and getting rid of the spring weeds in between caring for my considerably-older-than-I husband, being grandma to a multitude, preparing to become a g. grandma in October, helping my step-son with our Black Angus herd, working for our local weekly newspaper as a full-time reporter, etc. My main reason for joining this forum is the aforementioned weed issue - but I'll be posting that in another topic - after I take a picture of them. Meanwhile. . . HELLO from West Virginia!
Welcome WestVa Gma from one mountain grandma to another. My mama's people come from a hollar in Southwestern Virginia. My ancestors are from Smyth and Bland counties. I got to take a mini vacation in your state one time, and found it to be quite a charming place. I do have a hankering for the mountains. What is the name of your local paper? I am so happy you came to be a part of our Gardenstew. Love & Blessings. SoJ

Hi WestVa Gma, welcome to the Stew from north Texas. Sounds like you have your plate full, hope you get to squeeze in time to hang around here often.
Welcome from South Carolina! Wow, I thought I was a busy woman. I'm a bit late in my garden as well and the bees are letting me know!
Hello West Va Gma and welcome from the sunny, nightless, still cold Artic Norway! Great place to be is right here on the Stew with the most wonderful people around. Weed issues huh, Well don't be surprised if you see a post from me that says,,,"Eat em" lol. Just think no more weeding, and you won't be so busy, then you can sit back with a cup of coffee or weed tea, and enjoy the Stew! (makes sense to me)
