Hi, I'm 30 years old, married with one daughter and I live in Wolverhampton, in the West Midlands. I've been in love with the natural world, especially green things, for as long as I can remember! :-D I love to go for walks in the wood and just listen, I've never been a very loud person anyway! I plan to start my own little herb garden in the spring, as I've never had the time or the space before! My other interests include listening to music (rock mainly), folklore, mythology, art (I'm not very good at it though!), history/prehistory and languages. I leave it there for now - don't want to bore you all to tears!! Look forward to chatting with you all!
Welcome Raven from the state of Michigan. We are glad to have you with us. I look forward to hearing more about you and your plans for an herb garden. We all love to see pictures so post some when you have the time.
Hi Raven, welcome to the Stew from north Texas. We love pictures, so progress pictures of your herb garden or things you see along your nature walks would be great. I love mythology too, I dabble at painting but mainly I garden and knit. Since we are scattered all over the world, it is never boring to learn more about each other. Have fun reading the forums and don't forget to check out the blogs...and start your own blog too.
Hi Ravin ,Glad to have you join our Stew.I am in Central Texas. We have so much fun in here and hope you join in and enjoy it as much as I do.
there Raven - great name by the way and I love your avatar. to GardenStew. I think you'll like it here as we're a friendly, if rather mad, bunch. Why not have a look at our calendar, you may want to add some dates, and our members map so that you'll know where we all are. I hope your weather is kinder to you at them moment than ours here in Scotland is. Looking forward to chatting with you. :-D
Hi Raven, I agree with Eileen - great avatar Very happy to have you join us here at the Stew. A bit of a rocker myself at times, who do you like to listen to? Welcome!
Welcome to the Stew from Louisiana in the deep south. Check out our hobbies and craft forum and the garden junk sub-forum for some neat ideas.
Hi Raven, and welcome from another music lover. Look forward to following your adventures. And pictures say a thousand words, so any you can share along the way would be great. Pete.
Oh my goodness! I didn't expect so many replies - thank you all for the warm welcome! Eileen : Our weather has been wet and windy the past couple of days, in fact it's been raining non-stop today. I think we're all in for a cold snap next week, possibly some snow? I promise I will take some pictures of the herb garden as I progress and post them on here for you all to see. I'm starting off with a small patch though! My username is a pet name from an ex-boyfriend years back on account of my hair colour. My real name is quite common, so I decided to use Raven instead - plus I do happen to like crows, ravens and magpies. There's a lot of mythology and folklore that surround them - as you're probably already aware! :-D As for music, you'll wish you hadn't asked now! I like The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead, The Cult, Thunder, Guns 'n' Roses, Iron Maiden, U2, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Metallica, Heart, Terrorvision, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks and more recently Muse and The Darkness. I also like folk music, mainly celtic folk, when I want to relax - Clannad, Capercaillie, anything with uileann pipes really! :-D Look forward to getting to know you all better!
Greetings from West Tennessee from another Great Lover of the natural world. Fresh herbs liven up the most mundane meals. Glad to see ya! 8)
