Frank I was wondering what is the cheapest way of getting a domain name in Ireland , all the companies have a bewildering array of prices , offers etc . Also any idea of the cost of registering .eu . At the moment I dont want a proper website , I just want to safeguard the names . 8) Bugs
Did a little research Bugs and came across BlackNight solutions http://www.blacknightsolutions.ie/ They are offering .ie domains from 30 euro and seem reputable. I have never purchased a .ie myself so I'm no expert I'm afraid. Here is another list packed full of Irish hosting services that may also sell .ie domains: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=57012 Now about .eu, they are not available to register yet but some domain name resellers may take 'pre-orders'. There is no guarantee that you would get the domain though. Hope all this helps Bugs. Just so you know I use GoDaddy to register my domains. Never had any problems. They don't do .ie though.
Thanks for the info Frank . Just got a site www.eircom.net / eulaunch company names can be applied for from Feb 7 , will let you know how I get on 8) Bugs ps the blog is from Glendalough
Bugs I also stumbled across these guys http://stresa.hostireland.com/ who are offering .ie domains for 10 Euro if you buy one of their hosting packages as well.
