as you can see its dieing and i dont knwo from what... can u guys tell from looking at it... i bought it at the flower store and i think they transplated it too roughly and its dieing form transplant... idk anyideas?
Hi, Welcome to GardenStew first of all. Hope you enjoy your stay with us. I can not tell from looking at it if there is really anything wrong with the plant. All blooms eventually die, that is when you pinch them off so the plant can put it's energy into producing more blooms and becoming healthier. On some plants the bloom lasts only a very few days but on others they last many days. All plants will lose some bottom leaves when they are transplanted, not from damage at transplantation but just because they go thru transplant shock. Also, all plants will lose some bottom leaves as the plant grows. Without seeing a better picture of the blossom, I can not help with ID'ing it. Make sure you are not overwatering it. If it is in full sun all day, try part shade/part sun for a few days to see if it looks better. If it is in part shade/part sun, try full sun for a few days. If those do not work, then try shade all day for a few days. Sometimes you just have to experiment until you find the right conditions for a plant, especially if you do not know what that plant is. It really would help if you could ask someone at the shop where you bought it if they can ID it for you.
This looks like some kind of dianthus. (sweet william, pinks, carnation) Like Toni said, don't overwater. If it's hot where you live never put a freshly transplanted plant in the sun for several days.
Welcome to the forums Lazy G. I think the advice the ladies gave you is good. It would help if we knew where you lived. That's about all you can try. Good luck and I hope it comes back out.
Hi there LazyG. :-D I agree your plant is only doing what comes naturally so please don't worry about it. I hope you enjoy our forums and that you stay around and join in the fun.
Welcome :-D I agree with everyone. A poor little plant can only do it's thing for so long and it gets tired, time for a rest. Maybe his days were numbered when you bought him Try pinching it back. It may rest up and come back gorgeous! Deanna :-D
