hi guys. according to responses from my recent posts, this is a member of the dracaena family. i used to have two of these. about 3 months ago, i repotted the trees. one of them had pretty much died. it's leaves wilted, turned yellow and fell off, and the trunk/stem wasn't hard and firm, when i pressed it with my fingers it was as the though the outer layer of papery wood was too big for the wood inside, i could squish the very outer layer down until it touched the firm inside (i hope that makes sense). i figured it was a problem with the soil so i changed it and threw out the dead one. now the other one is started to lose leaves and yellow, and the trunk has the same seperation with the outer layer toward the bottom now D: could this be a result of bad drainage? there's a drain hole and i've put big rocks on the bottom as well, shouldn't that be okay?
let me know what you guys think so i can act fast to save my baby please! i am new to caring for plants so any help would be highly appreciated :] thanks folks!

Not sure, but it sounds like they might be getting too much water? How often do you water? Let the soil dry out before watering again... Good luck
I know it is frustrating to have a plant in failure mode and not know what is wrong and what to do.

i generally water it lightly about every other day. basically i stick my finger in the soil about an inch, and if it's dry i water. yes it is, i wish i could just ask the poor thing what's up. haha

I too would recommend stop watering. While the roots should be kept moist they should not be allowed to become soggy. Check for proper drainage. I would wait till the top third of the pot soil is dry. Do keep us up to date as to the plants condition.
