Please help us figure out our dilemma. We are renting a house with the family room pictured below. I have attached a picture with rough dimensions and some fixtures. The room is 19.4 ft by 13.3 ft. to the far left is a fireplace with brick above it. to the far right is a half wall and entrance leading to the kitchen (cable outlet pictured bottom right corner). and there is a slider out to the deck just about dead center on the wall. The two little circles are recessed lighting fixtures.

We are trying to figure out where to put the 50" flat panel TV and then buy furniture so that we can maximize enjoyment of TV and fireplace. We are not willing to drill into the brick above the fireplace because it is not our home. Currently the TV is almost opposite the Fireplace on an angle where the cable outlet is we want to buy furniture but we don't know what to buy that will fit nicely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

    If u want to place

You can place it diagonally to the fireplace so that when you lite the fire , the flames not gonna disturb your experience while watching TV

I would also place it diagonally, or on the upper wall in the picture.

    Your room is so big.
I would do a conversation area byt fireplace, put the couch on the opposite wall from the fireplace and TV diagonally next to the fireplace so you can take advantage of the natural focal point of the room and still enjoy the TV

Can you place the TV above the fireplace? With your room that large, pull the sofa out from the wall and place it on the opposite wall on a slight angle. You didn't say what other furniture you have. :stew2:
