    I need some advice.....
Last year I grew Clemson Spineless Okra, which pickled very well but grew super tall, like 7' tall lol I how ever am not super tall  and would like to find a variety of okra that stayed shorter. I hadn't grown okra in about 5 years until this last season and when I had grown it before I remember it only getting about 4' at the most but I have no clue what variety it was. Another factor to consider is that it just really likes where I put it, I have moved the garden since I had last grown it.
As I was browsing the forums last night I did come across another thread that had some info about okra in it and I took that into consideration.
I guess my main questions are:
    1. How well does Penta Dragon okra pickle? I see that it only gets around 25" tall.

    2. And are there any other varieties I should consider besides these...
    *Penta Dragon
    *Cajun Delight Hybrid Okra
    *Jambalaya Hybrid Okra

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated, thanks!

Okra will reach for the sky if you let it. Simply cut it off when it gets to the height that is comfortable for you. It will develop more side branches than okra that is let get tall. We planted Cowhorn, which is very tall, and I cut it at 5'. After I had harvested and frozen loads of okra, my husband told me he didn't much like it. Oops!
A neighbor plants Cajun Delight and has a great harvest. I don't know a thing about the taste.

That was another thing I was contemplating, the pinching it off. I wasn't sure if I would effect the production of it or not since it seems like the new buds seem to sprout from the top as it grows.

Just plant the Clemson spineless and keep it pinched back. It does seem to grow more at the top but that is usually as it gets older. Clemson is what I plant and I am only 5'1". I have had some that got the top accidentally taken out and it just bushed out the sides. Have no idea about the others. I go with what works for me.
