She has been in good health until the last 6 months. She has progressive Kidney disease and I am not sure when the time will come that we have to put her down. The vet recommended KD pet food from them and it seems to have worked wonders...just getting sick once in a while compared to what she was doing. She is using her liter box which is very important here.she seems happy and does the same routine. She is having more trouble jumping up on my lap so I have to lower the foot of the recliner to make it easier for her... she is still the boss of the dogs so that makes her happy I am sure...she is getting lighter with the disease..She loves to drink out of the dogs large water container.

Awww, pretty girl! I'm sorry shes sick.

I just saw a news story on organ transplants in pets. The donor kitty was a cat in a shelter and the person whose cat was being saved had to adopt the donor. So her kitty was saved and so was the shelter cat.

So far so good for Tigger. She has lost weight but still manages to do her regular routine. Mostly sleeping...she comes and sits on my lap at night when we come in from outside..No promises she will make it to her birthday on July 13 but she is holding her own and does not seem to be in pain or getting worse.

I'm glad to hear it, Sherry. She's a lovely cat. Please scratch her behind the ears for me.

Oh she's such a lovely lady Sherry. I hope the KD pet food keeps on working for her and that she'll be around for quite some time.

    What a darling!

We also have 3 geriatric female cats here. They are 13, 15, and one that we aren't really sure about. (She showed up as a stray or runaway - she's already spayed and declawed - on our doorstep last year and the vet thinks she is about 10-12.) It's so hard to see our pets with their declining health. Just give them all the love you can and know that their little lives are happy.

This is our adopted former stray cat Katya. She has made herself to home on my father's handmade quilt. Rough life! I don't even let my kids play on that one.

jakrum421...she sure does look comfortable. Good luck with all of your cats...

Thank you everyone for your good wishes for her. She has lived a good easy life , well maybe some grief from the dogs but they know she is boss.

i know what its like to have a sick cat. growing up we had a cat with a thyroid condition. My cat now has stoned in his urine. For many years we were so scared hed be too sick to keep but he had surgery to to opne the hole wider and we feed him urinary tract health food. Now hes 11 and hasn't felt sick in years. Hes a happy cat and hopefully will be that way for many years. I wish you luck with your cat and hope she feels better.
