With everything looking so spring-y :-D
and me sitting here in shorts this evening, doors and windows wide open,
it's hard to believe that the weatherman is threatening a frost on Saturday night

If he's right, I guess we'll lose much of what I photographed today. :-|

My Amaryllis flowers won't take such cold
    [IMG]

neither will the Azaleas, which are in full bloom now
    [IMG]

nor my neighbor's ornamental cherry tree, which is glorious just now
    [IMG]

another neighbor has this Tung oil tree in bloom
    [IMG]
I fell in love with his tree and he gave me a baby,
I can't wait 'til it's big enough to bloom! :D

    Neomarica gracilis ("Apostle plant")

I think these flowers are amazing in close-up
    [IMG]

Sparaxis, now these might just handle the chill
    [IMG]

but not the Wisteria which we have on both sides of our driveway
    [IMG][IMG]

and on the pergola behind the house.

If it really does get as cold as they say it might,
these will be a mess by Sunday afternoon.

Oh well, at least they're not predicting snow. :D

Oh ZuZu, I hope it doesn't freeze. I would hate for all of that beauty to be cut short. Will most of it tolerate a light frost?

IDEA FRIENDS WITH BLOOMS........go out and start cutting ,.. save and press in a photo album or something ! I sure would if I had what you have some how I would try and keep some maybe even after being pressed flat I would find a pretty frame and arrang them in and hang . better to cut and save than let the frost take away? just a thought. melissa

Sometimes you just wish you could cover your whole garden over and protect it from the frost don't you? I do hope the temperatures don't drop below freezing as your garden is absolutely stunning Zuzu.

Oh zuzu I hope it doesn't frost on your gorgeous plants. It would be such a shame.

Thanks for the kind words and crossed fingers everyone. :)
    You're so right Bethie, :-?
they get it wrong almost as often as they get it right, don't they?
So, I'll keep my fingers crossed, too.
The ocean water temp has risen to nearly 60°F,
so that may help us to stay just a few degrees warmer than nearby areas.

    Great ideas, Melissa!
:D I can't save 'em all, but I could certainly cut a couple of stems of Amaryllis and put them in a vase.

Eileen, I've been petitioning hubby for a weather-controlled geodesic dome
(with a sprinkler system) to cover the entire property,
but no joy thus far. :( He's a clever fellow, you'd think he could come up with something!!

You are so fortunate to be surrounded by such beauty!
You Southern folks are blessed with magnolias, azaleas, camellias, wisteria... not to mention the amaryllis that seem to grow wild! Your pictures are gorgeous. Maybe the old weatherman is way off this time!
    sigh

Beautiful flowers - I love them all. Hope the weatherman is wrong and the frost stays away. Here in Michigan I would be happy if the snow stayed away.

Zuzu your flowers are gorgeous! I hope the weatherman is wrong too!! Your wisteria is beautiful and I can just smell it. When the boys were babies we lived in a house that had wisteria growing in the trees beside it and this time of year I would open the windows and let the glorious smell fill the air!! It was great!!
