I've just posted a blog entry showing what's blooming in my garden here in the tropics during July, which is our mid-Winter month. Here's the link to the blog entry: http://www.gardenstew.com/blog/e13149-14-its-our-mid-winter-month--july-2013--whats-blooming.html Some mid-Winter blooms - July 2013 ( photo / image / picture from Bernieh's Garden )
Yummy! I don't know what your mid-winter temps are, but some of those plants can be used as summer flowers here. They do fairly well at between 10°C-22°C.
Hi Droopy. The temps you noted would be winter temps for us. 10 deg C would be one of our chilliest winter nights. 22 deg C would be one of our cooler winter days. Our tropical winter conditions are very, very mild. The conditions really don't deserve the tag of 'winter' at all.
